Renntag Racing enjoys the Jefferson 500
The Jefferson 500 returned to Summit Point Raceway for a wet spectacle of vintage racing machinery. Many many talented drivers arrived to pilot historical machines around our home track. Just walking around the paddock was like touring a museum. The fact that these cars are still entered into competition is a measure of the metal of the owners and drivers alike.
Mr Brian Redman and Mr Bill Scott were both on hand for the event. I had the pleasure of speaking to both of them as they made their way to the banquet. Each told great stories of past racing glory to a packed house.

I also had the honor to speak to Peter Krause who was on hand to both drive and share his knowledge of Summit Point. Peter shared with me that he had one of the most exciting battles on track that he has ever had. He was driving with the Sasco team with an impressive display of equipment. We are excited to see Peter's new endeavor at VIR take off. Please check out his site below.

Our own Jens Scott drove to a top spot in Formula Vee in the #39 car owned by Bob Houston. This is the same car Jens' father Bill drove to victory in the 60s and 70s. This car also competed in the very first race ever held at Summit Point in 1969.
We enjoyed this event and hope to be apart of it next year. We also wish to give our best to driver and instructor Kevin Kommit who suffered a heart attack this past weekend and is recovering in the hospital. God Speed Kevin !
